News you need to know!!

Ladies! Exciting News! RETREAT COST has been lowered from $180 to $120! This is in partnership with the AOBC to assure that more ladies get to take advantage of this wonderful weekend at a cost that is a bit more affordable.

Because of this, the option well exists for those that may not be able to be away from home either of the nights to come for just one night and "come and leave as you please."

If you've already paid your registration in full, we will return the difference in the coming weeks.

Spread the word and invite your friends and neighbors...we are trusting God's provision for the ladies He would have come to the retreat but will share, we do need more to register!

Please call or email Christine O’Brien if you have any questions!

Why retreat?

Re·treat

noun \ri-ˈtrēt\

: movement by soldiers away from an enemy because the enemy is winning or has won a battle

: movement away from a place or situation especially because it is dangerous, unpleasant, etc.

: the act of changing your opinion or position on something because it is unpopular

Why Retreat?

Our lives are hectic, often demanding more from us than we could possibly give. Women in our culture are expected to be able to do it all, flawlessly, without a net. Just turn on the TV and you will see modern womanhood depicted with ever conflicting messages telling us who and how to be in the world. In the church we long to fulfill our calling, dig deeply into spiritual things, and make a difference in the world around us but we often can’t figure out how to do this because we are exhausted and overwhelmed.

The Bible promises in John 10:10 that Jesus came that we might have abundant life, but did He mean this frantic, chaotic, busyness we are often swept up in? Or did He have something else in mind for us?

Join us as we open God’s Word to be renewed by a fresh glimpse of His Glory. Surrounded by the beautiful autumn foliage and the tranquility of the natural world “we will be still and know that He is God.” We will look deeply into His Word for new awareness of familiar truths and be challenged to apply them again to our lives. We will have time to tend to things that are often overlooked in the rush of our everyday lives like long walks, long talks, long laughs, and long naps.

No matter your season of life, this retreat offers the promise of disconnecting from our everyday world and reconnecting with the Source of life- Jesus.

On being Authentic Me

What does it mean to be authentically me? What does it mean to live an authentic life? How can we make peace with our pasts and with our present limitations and live joyful, meaningful lives today? God’s calls us to Peace, even with ourselves. We may not yet be who we will be, but who we are right now, is enough for right now. Let’s take Him up on His promise of grace, to live the life He has called us to now. Not when we lose 10 pounds, not when we get our temper under control, or pay off the bills, but right now today.

About Authentic

au·then·tic

adjective \ə-ˈthen-tik, ȯ-\

: real or genuine : not copied or false

: true and accurate

: made to be or look just like an original

Authentic: Getting real with God, myself and others.

What does it mean to be authentic? To be the real deal, the genuine article? Many of us feel like we are just going through the motions in our lives as mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, friends… and Christians. We do the things we think we should, or we try to, but sometimes it feels like an act - not an act of worship and love.

Let’s open God’s Word together and consider what it means to be “seen,” truly seen by the Creator God. As we catch a glimpse of His Glory, we will also see ourselves reflected in His eyes. What does God see when He looks into our lives? What pains and secret hurts, what fears and frustrations, what secret sins that continue to assail? There is a secure place, purchased by His great Love for us; here we will find the freedom we so desperately long for. We will be known and we will know His Great Love in new ways.

Will you come, to seek the Master’s face and find yourself remade? Will you come just as you are, and find the love and grace you need? Will you come clinging to the things you know you need to put down, and trust His Love to help? Will you come?
